#RestaurantReview – Classic Rock Cafe

Hi Guys!

Today, I am reviewing one of my favourite cafes in Abuja “Classic Rock Cafe”.

I ABSOLUTELY love this cafe. The ambiance of this cafe is inviting and fun. You can tell a lot of thought went into the design of the cafe. I mean guitars on the wall, Rock and Roll records as picture frames and drums as table (who would think of that?).

If you are a Rock fan, you would be much at home in this cafe. It’s from the same franchise as Hard Rock Cafe in the United States. Every Friday, there is usually an artist with a live band playing in the evening and Wednesdays are karaoke nights.

Did I mention there is free wifi in the cafe? All you need to do is ask a staff for the password to the wifi. It’s good for business meeting as well as hangout with friends.

All through the Ramadan Period, they had an offer of “50% off on all orders purchased from 6pm – 8pm”. My friend and I decided to make use of the offer (who doesn’t like discounts?). Unfortunately, we didn’t take pictures of the food because we were too hungry (I’m sorry). We had to wait a while before we got attended to. I literally had to go call someone to come and attend to us which was a bit annoying. I ordered a chicken salad while my friend ordered Sticky Glazed Lamb Chops (not 100% sure that’s the name).

It took about 20-30 mins for our orders to be ready. My chicken salad came with toasted baguette while his lamp chops came with Mashed Potatoes and Veggies. I didn’t particularly enjoy the salad, I felt it could have been better. The dressing also felt off. Anyway, I ate it because I was starving but couldn’t finish because it was a lot.

Best Glazed ribs I’ve had in Abuja, mashed potatoes were decent, salad was well salad…not much experience with salad but the ribs though, lovely. Only complaint I had was that I was given a bread knife instead of a steak knife. I had to give up and use my hands. (Friend’s Review of the Lamb Chops)

Classic Rock Cafe is a bit pricey tho. Their mains usually come with some selection of sides while their salads come with toasted baguette. We tried paying with card but their POS had issues, luckily we had some cash with us. So be on a safe side, I would suggest taking some cash along with you.

  1. Been there with Marho and Rqmon before. It was cool, pricy but cool. Would have snatched one of the guitars down to rock Timbaland’s “Undertow” but nah. I’d recommend their smoothies any day and their chicken pizza is cray, if you’re not on a diet. However, lengthy time to process an order seems like mainstay for them.

  2. […] wished it came with a baguette or something similar like what Classic Rock Cafe does (see review here). But for the price, I guess I shouldn’t complain. Also, the price was amazingly cheap for a […]

  3. Been here a lot of times….their Salads are just to good and if you are a coffee person like me then you have to be in CRC finally they have got this matured live band on fridays with a matured crowd. So if you don’t feel like clubbing or doing the regular friday hangout … you should try their Friday live band.

  4. Great write-up!

Although Classic Rock Coffee, Abuja is the first Nigerian coffee shop with the Classic Rock Coffee International franchise in the USA.

We are excited to see that you rated the ambience a 10; we really loved working on the building project from concepts through design to finish!

    Thank you.

    1. The ambience is AMAZING!!! Nice job!

  5. […] This is another favorite cafe. The ambiance of this cafe is inviting and fun. A lot of thought and details as well as planning was involved in this cafe. I love the quirky bits such as the guitars on the wall, Rock and Roll records as picture frames and drums as tables. We have reviewed this cafe in a previous post (see here). They have a wide selection of coffee drinks available from them including Cappuccino, Mocha, latte Machiatto etc. The internet is also very fast and reliable (just make sure you ask for the password). See a review here. […]
