Today, I am reviewing one of my favourite cafes in Abuja “Classic Rock Cafe”.
I ABSOLUTELY love this cafe. The ambiance of this cafe is inviting and fun. You can tell a lot of thought went into the design of the cafe. I mean guitars on the wall, Rock and Roll records as picture frames and drums as table (who would think of that?).
If you are a Rock fan, you would be much at home in this cafe. It’s from the same franchise as Hard Rock Cafe in the United States. Every Friday, there is usually an artist with a live band playing in the evening and Wednesdays are karaoke nights.
Did I mention there is free wifi in the cafe? All you need to do is ask a staff for the password to the wifi. It’s good for business meeting as well as hangout with friends.
All through the Ramadan Period, they had an offer of “50% off on all orders purchased from 6pm – 8pm”. My friend and I decided to make use of the offer (who doesn’t like discounts?). Unfortunately, we didn’t take pictures of the food because we were too hungry (I’m sorry). We had to wait a while before we got attended to. I literally had to go call someone to come and attend to us which was a bit annoying. I ordered a chicken salad while my friend ordered Sticky Glazed Lamb Chops (not 100% sure that’s the name).
It took about 20-30 mins for our orders to be ready. My chicken salad came with toasted baguette while his lamp chops came with Mashed Potatoes and Veggies. I didn’t particularly enjoy the salad, I felt it could have been better. The dressing also felt off. Anyway, I ate it because I was starving but couldn’t finish because it was a lot.
Best Glazed ribs I’ve had in Abuja, mashed potatoes were decent, salad was well salad…not much experience with salad but the ribs though, lovely. Only complaint I had was that I was given a bread knife instead of a steak knife. I had to give up and use my hands. (Friend’s Review of the Lamb Chops)
Classic Rock Cafe is a bit pricey tho. Their mains usually come with some selection of sides while their salads come with toasted baguette. We tried paying with card but their POS had issues, luckily we had some cash with us. So be on a safe side, I would suggest taking some cash along with you.
